Donation to Manna vir die Boere

The fires that have wreaked havoc in large parts of the Free State, Northern Cape and North West provinces have been one of the many challenges that have plagued the Agricultural Sector over the past year. The year 2020 will forever be characterised as a time of challenges, tragedy and loss. Nevertheless, these challenging times also serve as evidence of people’s ability to rise from destruction, rebuild and focus on the future.

Obaro has reached out to various suppliers and with their support, made a contribution to the Manna vir die Boere Group. The suppliers who have contributed to the cause are Yara, Tal-Tec, Irrigation Unlimited, MDM, Falcon, Rap Technologies, Steelmaster, Avidan and TurfAg.

“It is heartwarming to know that our suppliers share in our values and that we can rely on them in difficult times. Although this contribution is a mere drop in the bucket, we hope that it will prompt others to become involved as well.” says Nic Bronkhorst, Managing Director of Obaro.

The response received from the public has been overwhelming and with this in mind Manna vir die Boere, consisting of Afriforum, Agri NW, Boere in Nood, Droogtehulp met Burre, Caring Daisies, Gift of the Givers, SAAI and TLU SA, after consultation with donors, has made the decision to continue as a group and focus on drought relief. “The aim of the collaboration is to ensure that better distribution and more cost-effective transport is maintained. We are already experiencing that the areas are provided for more fairly with assistance and that there could be huge savings on transport costs if efforts are made to distribute the nearest available feed to the targeted area.

We are extremely grateful for what we can do but realise that we would not be able to do anything without donors making it possible for us to bring hope to the many places that have been suffering from scorching droughts for years. We would like to thank every donor and praise our Heavenly Father for the opportunity to provide this service.” Said Naudé Pienaar, on behalf of Manna vir die Boere.
